Camp Routine
For everyone's welfare and benefit, the Camp has to have established routines in certain areas, and the responsibilities of teachers and camp staff need be clearly defined. The following points are intended to clarify some issues which may otherwise have lead to misunderstandings or confusion.
- The children are at all times under the jurisdiction of the accompanying teachers and they are the teachers' responsibility
- Children should not be allowed off the Campsite at any time unless supervised.
- Children should only be allowed in the dormitories, common room and recreation hall if supervised
- Children are not allowed to operate the Camp's electrical equipment
- The Camp drive and car park are not to be used as play areas
- Teaching staff should report any malfunctioning of camp equipment to the Warden as soon as is practical. This includes all equipment eg swings, toilets, window catches etc
- Keeping the dormitory clean and tidy during the week is the responsibility of the staff and children in occupation
- On the day of departure all bedding should be collected and taken to the Warden before breakfast. Teachers should also oversee the washing down of shower and toilet areas.
- Meal times during the week are as follows unless prior arrangement is made with the Warden
Breakfast 9.00am, 8.30am on day of departure
Dinner 1.00pm
Tea 5.00pm
A light supper is left in the dining hall each evening for the teaching staff to supervise and distribute
Packed lunches can be ordered instead of Dinner to allow more flexible use of days.
- Wet beds should be reported to the Warden prior to breakfast by teaching staff and clean bedding collected.
- If on arrival at the Camp teaching staff are dissatisfied with any aspect of cleanliness of facilities, this should be reported to the Warden immediately and a written note made on the Camp Evaluation Sheet.
- Please, during the holiday do all that you can to ensure the Camp is kept clean and tidy. eg ensure children put all rubbish in the bins provided.
- In each dormitory there are clear notices giving explicit directions on the procedures to be followed in the case of fire, or the ringing of the fire bell. These instructions need to be understood by the children and followed without exception.
- Schools should provide their own portable first aid kit which should be taken on all trips. The name, address and telephone of a local doctor should be obtained from the Warden on arrival.
- The nearest hospital with emergency facilities is at Bodelwyddan.
